Access Control Systems

The Access Control System [ACS] usually forms the heart of most security installations. It is the first line of defense when it comes to securing your employees and protecting your assets. Its main task is to be a filter for who can go where and at what time. We recommend different levels of access for different types of employees. For example: you wouldn’t expect to see your line operator in the IT-Office - especially at 2am. Our systems will not only give you freedom to assign a group of access points to any employee, it also tells you when an unauthorized card holder was attempting to enter a restricted area. To the card holder it will simply ‘deny’ access and not release a lock. But it triggers a flag to the system supervisor who will recommend for example that the person should be observed more closely.
An ACS consists of different levels of interface devices from Keypads to RFID readers to Biometric readers. It is often combined with Parking Control and if configured with In / Out readers, it can prevent the same card being used for a second (unauthorized) user [Anti-Passback Control] and be combined with a Time and Attendance Program that powers directly into your Payroll Software or if you are leasing parking spaces, it automatically calculates every user’s monthly bill.
An ACS can also help provide crucial occupancy information in an emergency situation. It can direct rescue teams to key areas which will save precious moments when every second could be critical in saving lives. ACS actively power Turnstiles, Parking Booms, Elevator Controls and many different locking devices. ACSs can also track assets that have been equipped with passive transponder chips. Some production companies are using sub-micro RFID chips to serialize and monitor safety-critical parts throughout the manufacturing process and sometimes for the life of such components.

Our biometric integration includes central enrollment of fingerprints and intelligent distribution of templates to readers. It can reside in the Nexus220 and AmanoNet access control systems. This allows for 100% identification of every user in the access control system and guarantees that only those with the valid credentials get access to the locations control by Morpho biometric readers. Further, AmanoNet supports the Government issued TWIC credential authentication on the Morpho biometric readers for Maritime applications.
